Leicestershire Lollipop Lady

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

Most of us spend a relatively small portion of our lives at school, but that's not the case for one Leicestershire woman. Born and brought up in Coleorton, Mary Redburn has been associated with the village school, Viscount Beaumont Church of England Primary, for the past 70 years. Mary's been the school's Lollipop Lady for the last 40 of those 70 years, and as a much loved local figure, her huge contribution to the local community is being marked this morning with a special assembly from staff and pupils.
