5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

93-year-old, Doreen Luckie, said yes when Britain's oldest groom to be, 103-year-old George Kirby asked her over dinner; "will you marry me for a short while?". The couple have been together for 27 years and will get married on the 13th June, after George's son and best man, Neil, convinced them it was the right time for a wedding. Doreen said they "thought it was a good idea" after Neil said "why don’t you get married" as he considers her as his "own mum". Neil, who owns a hotel which Doreen and George live at as his "guests", said this is the hotel's "2000th wedding" and is "a very special one". This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on Friday 24 April 2015.
