The 4 westerners appeared in court on Wednesday after posing on the sacred Kinabalu mountain. The mountain was struck by an earthquake last week. A senior Malay official linked the earthquake to the behaviour of the tourists, saying they had angered the mountain's spirits. Zan Azlee, a journalist in Kuala Lumpur explains why people are upset.
