Is it ethical to contact self-Isolated peoples?

Science In Action

Available for over a year

The last 18 months has witnessed an upsurge in self-isolating tribes in Peru and Brazil coming into contact with outside communities. These interactions have been unplanned and due to a lack of immunity to common illnesses these contacts can be life threatening to uncontacted people. Many factors could be causing this increased contact but dealing with it poses many ethical dilemmas. Fiona Watson from the NGO Survival International talks to Jack Stewart.
