Royal Naval Air Station, Howden

Phil White

Available for over a year

Here's the story of the Airships built by Barnes Wallace and his team out near Howden - at Royal Naval Air Station, Howden. The site was active from 1915 onwards. Phil's been talking to Barnes Wallace enthusiast, Ken Deacon at the site of the factory, the Boothferry Golf Club - and Ash the Greenkeeper makes an appearance too! It was a blustery day when they met - and it probably was a hundred years ago - an ideal site for building airships then?
