A chance find led an antiquarian book dealer to discover the identities of anonymous authors published by Charles Dickens, in his literary periodical All The Year Round. Jeremy Parrot, a literary scholar, discovered a collection of the periodicals annotated by Dickens himself. The notes reveal previously unknown works by Victorian writers such as Wilkie Collins, and Dickens’ own children. (Photo: Portrait of Charles Dickens. Credit: DEA / G. NIMATALLAH, Getty Images)
