"Good Nazi" honoured in Taiwan

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ OS

Available for over a year

Taiwan's President has awarded a posthumous honour to German businessman John Rabe at a ceremony in Taipei for his efforts to prevent the massacre of more than 200,000 Chinese civilians during the Second Sino-Japanese War. As Germany and Japan were World War II allies, Rabe used his Nazi party membership to do all he could to protect civilians in the zone - including sheltering refugees in his own home. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ reporter Cindy Sui was at the ceremony and managed to get a short interview with Thomas Rabe - who was there to represent his grandfather. (Photo: Getty)
