A Corbyn premiership imagined by Chris Mullin

Broadcasting House

Available for over a year

The political drama "A Very British Coup" has been re-written by the author for Broadcasting House. Chris Mullin wrote the book in the early eighties, as Tony Benn looked like he could win Labour's Deputy Leadership. In the novel, a left-wing Prime Minister is elected against all predictions and sets about withdrawing from NATO, embarking on Unilateral Nuclear Disarmament and more besides. Shadowy figures in the Establishment then act to destabilise him with cataclysmic endings in print and the later TV version. It's all a complete fiction. Here Chris Mullin reads from his own new version on the first days of the Premiership of Jeremy Corbyn in "A Very British Coup - the BH edition, Part One:"
