Available for over a year

Maryam was separated from her family in 1988, in the chaos of the Iran-Iraq war when Saddam Hussein's jets carried out a gas attack against Halabja in northern Iraq. Some 5,000 people were killed and 10,000 seriously injured. Through DNA testing, Maryam was finally reunited with her family. Freelance journalist Osmah Golpy was there and describes the emotional event. (Picture: Maryam meets her Iraqi-Kurdish family at an event in Halabja. Credit: Draw Mahdi)
