Usain Bolt beat Justin Gatlin to gold in the 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing. The Jamaican ran a season's best 9.79 seconds to win the title for a third time and beat his American rival, whose form had made him the favourite. The event was viewed in some quarters as a battle of good against evil as Gatlin, 33, has served two drugs bans in his career, while Bolt has never tested positive for a banned substance. After the race ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ broadcaster Jonathan Edwards spoke to Bolt’s long-time manager Norman Peart about whether a victory for Justin Gatlin would have been bad for athletics.
