Ealing is a London suburb with a particular claim to fame: the film studios located there. Today Ealing Studios are a thriving facility for hire, but their most celebrated era ended sixty years ago this summer. It was the end of a long string of classics such as Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Ladykillers, very British comedies which nonetheless found an international market.
