Egypt's President al-Sisi is due visit the UK in November but a nasty diplomatic squall has blown up between London and Cairo. The British ambassador there has been called in to explain comments he made about the conviction of three journalists. Speaking to local journalists in Arabic, John Casson said that decision would "undermine confidence in Egypt's stability". Egypt's Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid speaks for Cairo's foreign ministry and says John Casson deserved to be carpeted for his comments.
