Available for over a year

Daniel is a 16-year-old composer and musician from Dublin who currently studies classical guitar at the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey. He has broad musical interests but his music is heavily influenced by the works of the minimalist and post-minimalist composers such as Steve Reich, Philip Glass, David Lang, Julia Wolfe and Michael Gordon. In 2015, Daniel was selected from hundreds of entrants as one of the winners in the Junior category of the Proms Inspire Young Composers’ Competition. His winning piece, The Complications of Life in an Enclosed Space, was performed by Aurora Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas Collon at a Proms Extra event at the Royal College of Music on 28 August 2015.
