From street fighter to Olympic boxer

Outlook

Available for over a year

One of the top boxers to watch at this summer's Olympic games in Rio is young American star, Claressa Shields. She was just 17 when she won gold as a middleweight in the London Olympics in 2012. It was a long journey from street fighting in Flint in Michigan to the podium - and her story was turned into a film called, T-Rex, which is her professional nickname. She told Outlook's Jo Fidgen how she came by it. (This interview was first broadcast in September 2015) Picture: Claressa Shields Credit: T-Rex documentary
