Benedict Daswa is to be beatified, becoming South Africa's first ever saint. Daswa, a high school principal from the Limpop region, was beaten to death by a mob of neighbours after he denied the witchcraft being practiced in his village. They ambushed his car as he drove home one evening and chased him down. It’s said that, as he was dying, he prayed as the final blows rained down and boiling water was poured over his body.
