Daniel Cabrera is a nine-year-old boy who lives in the city of Cebu in the Philippines. One evening in June, a passer by took a photo of Daniel doing his homework on the pavement by the light from a fast food restaurant. The photo was shared by thousands of people on social media and Daniel became a symbol of children studying their way out of poverty. Donations and scholarships poured in from people who were touched by his dedication and his life has now changed forever.
