Two Britons died last week after a crane crashed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. A total of 107 people were killed when it toppled over during a thunderstorm with extremely high winds. Qasim Akram from Bolton had arrived in Mecca ahead of the start of the annual Hajj pilgrimage with his parents. They managed to escape without injury. Councillor Akthar Zaman had seen Mr Akram days before his death and in this extract he speaks to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Talat-Farooq Awan.
