In 2014 the Coastguard service underwent a major restructuring process which lead to the closure of stations at Portland and Lee on Solent, as well as others around the country station. The National Maritime Operations Centre in Fareham went online in September taking over responsibility for all UK waters. Six months on, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Solent was granted special permission to see inside the high security centre. Tracey Clarke spoke to Operations Commander Steven Carson.
