Ancient Syrian Farmland has Lessons for Today

The Farming World

Available for over a year

The world's oldest cultivated land is the area around Aleppo, Syria. This is the location of the experimental farm of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICADA). Here scientists have access to agricultural history in the form of wild relatives of wheat and barley, fava bean and lentils, as well as crops for animal fodder.
