Beliefs in the 20th Century

My Century

Available for over a year

People share their memories and experiences of their faith in the 20th Century. Noreen Hill explains how her Christianity has sustained her during the years her husband Ronnie has laid in a coma. Lucille Eichengreen saw her entire family killed by the Nazis in the Second World War. She can no longer believe in a God. Aftar Singh and his wife Surinder Kaur are Sikhs. Aftar remembers how he survived the Indian army attack on the most sacred shrine of that faith in 1984. Mohammed Accram Khan-Cheema remembers how he almost lost touch with his faith when he emigrated from East Africa to England in 1960. The military authorities in Chile in the 1970s and 1980s were responsible for the abduction of thousands of people - their families never knew their fate. One of those who disappeared was Helia Lopez Zarsoza's future brother-in-law.
