Jesse Owens won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. He won the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and the long jump. His wife, Ruth Owens recalls: "After the Olympics, being the colour that he was, the doors weren't open like they are today for the athletes."
