African Film-maker

My Century

Available for over a year

"Why is there so much violence and so much poverty when there is so much wealth... When we see how wars are developing all over the continent, you know that you've reached a certain level of injustice and people don't have anything more to lose." Film-maker Jean Marie Teno's documentaries have won him prizes on the international film circuit. But his depictions of injustice in society have also led to conflict with the authorities in his native Cameroon. He has lived in Paris since 1977.
