The Story of Pete and Charlotte O'Neal

Pete O'Neal was in the US civil rights group the Black Panthers. In 1969 he was convicted of carrying a gun over a state line and was subject to death threats in prison, he was smuggled out of the country. He still lives in exile in Tanzania with his wife Charlotte. The Black Panthers were committed to community based social programmes and Pete and Charlotte set up the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC) in the village of Imbaseni.
