Guinea worm prevention in Nigeria; and a sleeping sickness epidemic hits parts of Africa. An alarming epidemic of sleeping sickness has been reported by World Health Organisation. Treatment can be toxic but the only prevention appears to be avoiding the disease's carrier the Tsetse fly. Also in the programme, a progress report marking a decade since the Nigerian government introduced a clean water guinea worm control programme.
