How A Simple Wipe Could Prevent Blindness At Birth

Health Matters

Available for over a year

One in ten babies is born with an eye infection, often caused by a treatable STI. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are responsible for the majority of eye infections caught by babies at birth in the developing world. The infection can often be prevented by wiping the eyes of the baby with a sterile solution at birth. Also in the programme how family planning in Ethiopia is helping get much-needed contraception to many women. Plus an update on one mum with lupus who finally had a healthy baby after seven pregnancies.
