'Van Gaal right to defend Rooney'

Sport Today

Available for over a year

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has once again had to defend his captain Wayne Rooney after he came in for criticism following their 0-0 draw with arch-rivals Manchester City. Rooney had fewer touches than any outfield United player and had no shots on target. The former Manchester United goal-keeper Mark Bosnich can understand the questions over Rooney but feels it's right to back him. (Picture: Wayne Rooney, credit: Getty Images)
