Goal celebrations are no longer just for players. Lech Poznan supporters have the Poznan dance…Manchester City fans do it too. But surely nothing comes close to the efforts of Portland Timbers mascot Timber Joey who slices off part of a giant log every time the team score at home. The chunk of tree is then handed to the goal scorer after the game and that moment will be even sweeter if it leads to Portland’s first ever appearance in the MLS Cup final. The Timbers play their home leg in the last four of the competition this weekend looking for a win that could make history. Steve Crossman went to meet their chief cheerleader, a man who says his chainsaw is “an emblem of celebration and love”. (Image: Timber Joey. Credit: Getty Images)
