How to cure a fear of the dentist's chair

The Newsroom

Available for over a year

Psychologists at Kings College London have found that cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT, can help patients with severe dental phobia. They found that the majority of people with a fear of the dentist were able to have dental treatment without sedation after five sessions of the talking therapy. Professor Tim Newton is the author of the research - he told us it's quite common to be afraid of the dentist's chair. (Photo: A dentist treats a patient in northern France.
