Stuart Pearce on why Tony Pulis kicked him after Man City sacking

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Stuart Pearce has described how Tony Pulis provided an unusual form of motivation after his sacking at Manchester City. He was dismissed in 2007 by City, and has since gone on to manage England Under-21's and Nottingham Forest. "I lost my job at Manchester City and bumped into Tony Pulis the following evening at an England game. He came up behind me, booted me in the back of the legs and said 'get your head up son, you've not managed until you've had three sackings,'" Pearce said. This clip is from 5 live Sport, Saturday 12 December 2015.
