Sunn O))) (pronounced simply 'sun') formed in Seattle in 1998. They are known for a synthesis of genres including drone, ambient, noise, extreme metal. The band has two core members: Greg Anderson (also of Goatsnake and Engine Kid) and Stephen O'Malley (Khanate and Burning Witch).
