Should Wayne Rooney go to Euro 2016?

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

On current form, should Wayne Rooney go to Euro 2016 next summer? Tom Collomosse from the London Evening Standard doesn't think so. The columnist was quizzed, along with John Hartson, by Gigi Salmon on whether the Manchester United and England captain should make Roy Hodgson's squad for the trip to France. "Wayne Rooney is a player in decline...his football age is probably around 34 because he's been playing at a high level so far," he said speaking on 5 live Sport. "If he was a unnamed player I don't think he'd get into the squad." This clip is from 5 live Sport on Sunday 27 December 2015.
