Tokyo residents told to prepare for "ninja" rat invasion

World Update

Available for over a year

Parts of the Japanese capital, Tokyo, are on "rat alert", as the city's most famous fish market prepares to relocate and deprive hundreds of thousands of what are being referred to as "ninja rats" of their main food source. The authorities are investing almost $200,000 in a campaign to limit the migration of the hungry vermin. Paul Henley asked Danielle Demetriou, a reporter for the British Daily Telegraph newspaper, for more details. (Image: Black rat Credit: SPL)
