Parry: ‘Blade Jumper’ should not compete at the Olympics

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former Olympic bronze medallist Steve Parry says it would be unfair to allow Markus Rehm to compete at the Rio 2016 Games. Rehm, a single-leg amputee who competes in the long jump, is running out of time to prove his carbon fibre running blade does not give him an unfair advantage. Retired swimmer Parry believes the German is “clearly going to generate extra energy” from his prosthetic leg. This clip was first broadcast on 5 live Sport, Thursday 19 February 2016.
