Former England rugby union international Martin Bayfield tells the Friday Sports Panel that he "thought it was a wind-up" when he received the call from Warner Bros asking whether he was interested in being part of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The 6,10" Grand Slam winner said he "was bitter and twisted and hated life" when he was approached to be Hagrid's body double, quitting his role at Northampton Saints with a parting message of "I'm going to work in the movies." The 49-year-old adds "I fully appreciate that I was just Robbie Coltrane's backside for ten years but it was a very enjoyable backside to be." Bayfield who went on to act in all eight Harry Potter films also reveals to 5 live's Eleanor Oldroyd how he finally got the chance to thank the book's author J.K. Rowling. The ex-rugby star was part of a film themed Friday Sports Panel with Scotland women's football captain Gemma Fay and former Olympic 100m finalist Jeanette Kwakye who've also had acting roles.
