Youth club behind Rashford and Welbeck needs funding

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The chairman of the junior club that developed Danny Welbeck and Marcus Rashford, Ron Jamieson, said it felt "special" his players were being recognised. Two graduates of Fletcher Moss Rangers FC, in Manchester, scored for both sides in yesterday's Premier League match at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford scored two for Manchester United, with Danny Welbeck scoring one for Arsenal. The club are currently looking into obtaining a lease for their ground. Jamieson said: "We need the lease in order to get the funding from the football foundation, without the lease we won't get anything." He believes the fields "are second to none." Adding: "But the building itself is not fit for purpose." This clip is originally from Stephen Nolan on Sunday 29th February.
