Former Manchester City and Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton believes that Everton's new investors could trigger a change of manager at the club. This comes after Iranian billionaire Farhad Moshiri bought a 49.9% stake in the Merseyside outfit. Everton fan Barton said: "Usually when big investors come in, they want their own man in charge. There's already an internal pressure in the city of Liverpool on Roberto Martinez." Martinez, 42, admitted that "every single department will be assessed” after the investment, and Barton thinks the next few games could be crucial to the manager's future. He said: "If Everton don't finish the season strongly I think that before they get significant investment, they could see [Martinez] leave the football club."
