The ѿý Middle East Debate

A group of leading Israelis and Palestinians discuss the worsening crisis in the Middle East. It occurs after US president, George W Bush, called on both sides to “break with the past”. The debate was organised by the ѿý, and took place in Jerusalem with the aim to sit officials from both sides at the same table to work towards a common future. What would be the shape of an eventual settlement? Is it possible to build on any common ground? Panel guests include: Yuri Xavier, who led the Israeli negotiations for the Oslo Peace Process: Hassan Atib, Palestinian labour minister and who was also part of the delegation for the Madrid Peace Talks;Israeli ambassador and advisor to Ariel Sharon, Dore Gold; and Ziad Abuzayyad, member Palestinian Legislative Council.
