American double bass virtuoso Gary Karr on the beauty and sensuality of his chosen instrument. Christopher Marlowe's play Doctor Faustus is reviewed in a futuristic production directed by Adrian Noble with Ben Kingsley in the title role at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.
