William Shakespeare’s troupe of actors visited Marlborough

Ben Prater

Available for over a year

William Shakespeare’s troupe of actors visited Marlborough twice as the Lord Chamberlain's men and twice as the King's men before he died. Did Shakespeare take to the stage and where would his company have performed in the town? Roo Green went on a walk with Nick Fogg, who lives there and has written books on the Bard. They turned their backs on the Town Hall and headed down the High Street until they got to a passageway between an estate agent and the Conservative club.
