Lineker: Watching Leicester makes me 'a bag of nerves'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Gary Lineker has admitted watching Leicester City makes him more nervous than taking a penalty at a World Cup. Lineker, who scored 48 goals for England, is a life-long Leicester fan who played for the Foxes early on in his career. He says their stunning season – topping the Premier League table by five points with even games to go – has left feeling like “a big jelly on a plate”. He admitted: "This is actually quite agonising, which is really weird because the team is doing brilliant, but it's unpleasant. It turns you into a bag of nerves." The presenter added: "I've never suffered from nerves in my life, I've taken a penalty in a World Cup and never felt a thing." This clip is from 5 live Sport on Wednesday 23rd March 2016.
