With much fanfare and celebration, the Argentine government has welcomed a UN commission which backs the expansion of Argentina's maritime territory by 35%. However, the government's claim that this includes the contested Falkland Islands - which are known as Las Malvinas in Argentina - has been disputed. Carlos Escuda served as a special advisor on foreign policy to the Argentine government in the early 1990s. Lucy Burton asked what he makes of his country's territorial gains.
