Nihal

Available for over a year

Thirty four year old Sarfraz Ahmed has been sentenced in the first British conviction for slavery involving a man and wife. Ahmed's wife came over from Pakistan after she had finished a masters degree. Once she arrived in the UK she was subjected to abuse that amounted to slavery. It's a terrible case which raises lots of negative connotations about the treatment of wives from back home. But are those stereotypes unfair? A caller who married a lady from Pakistan and a family solicitor share their stories with Nihal.
