Would an Asian dad be judged for taking extended paternity leave?

Nihal

Available for over a year

It was around a year ago that new rules came into allowing parents to share leave following the birth of their child. It meant that aside from the initial two weeks of maternity leave for the mother, up to 50 weeks of leave and 37 weeks of pay can be shared between the parents. But it seems like very few dads have taken up the offer - only one per cent according to a survey of employers and parents. The research was conducted by My Family Care and the Women's Business Council which spoke to more than 1,000 parents and 200 businesses But do their findings come as any great surprise? Three callers share their views with Nihal.
