Michael Haddad, the paralysed Lebanese man who walks to raise awareness of environmental issues. Throughout this month we're on a hunt for the world's most inspiring people - it's all part of our celebration of extraordinary people, Outlook Inspirations. Listener Rosette Fares from Beirut, Lebanon emailed us with her nomination, her friend Michael Haddad. She writes: "I would like to nominate Michael Haddad; he is my best friend, inspiration, and instructor in many different situations especially life problems. Michael is the only person who has truly and effectively inspired me to overcome many obstacles in my life. He had a jet ski accident at the age of six, and this left him with 75 percent body paralysis. Michael worked so hard to make his first step, and then he registered three world records in climbing and walking. I am so proud and honoured to have Michael as my inspiration and as my friend." Andrea Catherwood spoke to Michael through an interpreter from his home in Lebanon and told her about his biggest challenge after the accident. (Image: Michael Haddad Picture credit: Michael Haddad.)
