A Celebration of Beer

Bill Buckley

Available for over a year

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire is celebrating Reading’s brewing heritage, as part of Reading Year of Culture 2016. We'll be telling the fascinating story of how Reading beer was transformed from a disgusting swill hated by locals, to an ale loved all over the world. Step back in time with a wonderful collection of memorabilia from Reading pubs. Meet members of one of Reading’s most renowned brewing families, the Simonds, and learn why their ancestors’ beers – like their 1880s bitter and 1920s Hop Leaf Pale Ale – became world-famous. It’s on Tuesday 26th April at 3Bs at Reading Town Hall. Entry is free but you have to be 18+. Event starts at 1930. Doors open at 1900.
