The woman who flies with swans

World Update

Available for over a year

Every year, Bewick swans make a remarkable journey, flying over 7000 kilometres from the Russian Arctic to Britain. When they embark on their epic migration this autumn, they'll have a very un-swan-like companion following their journey: conservationist and adventurer Sacha Dench. With a parachute and a propeller strapped to her back, she's going to follow their entire route. She told James Menendez why she was doing it.
