I recover migrants' bodies from the sea

Outlook

Available for over a year

In October 2013, a ship carrying approximately 500 migrants from North Africa sank off the coast of the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa. A team of police divers had the difficult task of recovering the bodies of the 350 people who drowned in the disaster. Leading the team was Outlook Inspirations nominee Antonio D'Amico, a man with almost 30 years of diving experience, but nothing could have prepared him for such a harrowing time.
