France is proposing a ban on work phones and computers after hours

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

Are work emails and other digital communication eating too much into your private life? It's a growing problem in modern society, so much so that in France they're introducing a law to control it. The so-called 'right to disconnect' will oblige companies to sign a charter with employees stating the hours -- in the evening and at weekends -- when work phones and computers should not be consulted. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Paris correspondent Hugh Schofield hears differing views on the proposal. (Photo: woman using a laptop lying on a bed Credit: Getty Images)
