In 2013, Outlook Inspirations nominee Mona Seraji was Iran’s only top female snowboarding instructor when she broke her spine in a ski jump accident. She thought she’d never walk again, but a few months later she began learning how to surf. She is now one of the best female surfers in Iran and is aiming to become an Olympic snowboarding coach.
