Anti-corruption: crackdown on terrorists and money-launderers

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

The government's anti-corruption champion, Sir Eric Pickles, has said an end to secrecy surrounding the true ownership of shell companies is vital to help crack down on criminals, terrorists and money-launderers. After an anti-corruption conference in London, eleven new jurisdictions said they would join 25 others that had already agreed to share information with each other. But Sir Eric told Shaun Ley, on the World Tonight, the UK government wanted the countries to agree to make the information automatically public. (Picture: Eric Pickles Credit: Getty Images)
